Doctoral Researcher in Health Economics
The Medical University of Vienna, Center for Public Health, Department of Health Economics (DHE), is looking for a Senior Scientist to contribute to the project “Post-Covid Care: Translational Health Economics and Medical Humanities at the Frontlines“ https://healtheconomics.meduniwien.ac.at/en/wissenschaft-forschung/projekte/post-covid-19-care/
The position is a fixed-term (end date 30 September 2024), part-time position (30 hours/week) and can be filled as of 14 March 2022.
Salary and terms of employment are according to the collective contract with a minimum monthly gross salary of Euro 2.294.- (14x per year).
The working language of the DHE is English.
Relevant work includes conducting literature reviews, epidemiological, socioeconomic and health economic data collections, conducting interviews and performing both qualitative and quantitative data analyses. The position holder will overlook the day-to-day running of the project, collect and analyze the relevant data, and develop and disseminate the study results including peer-reviewed publications.
• Topic relevant Master’s degree preferably in health economics or a related discipline (e.g. socioeconomics, health services research, public health, economics, sociology). Equivalent demonstrable training and research experiences may be also considered
• Participation in the Doctoral Programme at the Medical University of Vienna alongside his/her work
• Willingness to contribute to research teaching actives of the DHE
• The employment requirements of non-EU citizens under foreign law must be guaranteed
Additional Qualifications and Skills
Applicants should either possess strong qualitative (e.g. Atlas.ti) or quantitative data analysis (Excel, SPSS, Stata, SAS, R or similar) and either qualitative (interviews) or quantitative data collection skills (statistics, econometrics) – the project will provide opportunities to develop the other skills. Applicants should have excellent written and spoken English and at least a working knowledge of German. Additional requirements include interest in interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research, enthusiasm, skill development and team work, and the ability to manage tasks professionally to agreed deadlines. A record of previous research publications and experience with socioeconomic and health economic studies is positively valued.
